Trail conditions - bskinner @ 20:15 PST
Went out with groomer last night but wind came up really bad only stayed out for five hours. We can not groom with high winds because in ten minutes they are drifted again and the road crossings have to be reopened again. We don't need to waste time and precious fuel to have to go out and do the same over the next day. I will try again tonight if the wind dies down if not will try tomorrow. I will update what happens. Be safe out there.

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 09:33 PST
Groomers were out yesterday trying to open road crossings and knock down drifts. With six inches of new snow we will be going out with groomers starting tonight until we get trails in perfect shape. Be watchful of groomers and remember groomers have the right of way, so please get off the trail and let them go by and give them a thumbs up when they go by, without these volunteers there would be no trails. Be safe out there I will update things as I can.

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 08:10 PST
Groomers went out yesterday to knock down drifts and open up road crossings and are out right now trying to finish up, cleaning the mess from the wind and plows. Trails are in very good condition where we have gone with the groomers. Be careful at road crossings, some still have high hard bumps in them, we are working on them, a lot of miles to cover. Be safe and be careful out there ride to the right of the trail.

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 09:08 PST
Trails are drifted from the wind yesterday and last night, some road crossings have filled in some and trails are rough in spots. We will go out with groomers as soon after the wind stops. If we go out with high winds, in ten minutes the are drifted shut again, and it it is very dangerous for us to cross roads with a 42 foot long machine when we can't see cars and cars can't see us due to the blowing snow. I will let you know when we go out again. Ride safe.

We rode 80 miles of our trails today they were really good until the wind picked up, now some of them are drifted, some real bad drifts. We will be out with groomers as soon as we can and the wind stops. More snow maybe Sunday? Be safe out there.

Trails are in excellent shape, working on the last two right now, out in Rural Grove and Lattimer Hill area, they should be done in a couple more hours if all goes well. More snow on the way a couple of inches the next two days, but the wind may come again though. That is all for now, I will post more as needed. Stay safe and ride to the right of the trail

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 22:28 PST
I groomed for eight and a half hours today, tails C7P from power line north to Canjo and Ft. Plain S78B FordsBush to St. Johnsville, C7D from Ft. Plain south through the Museum to Brookmans Crs. then East to Clinton Rd. The trails that aren't groomed have drifts in them and some have tough road crossings. We are going back out tomorrow and work on some more trails. We have two groomer drivers with deaths in their families so please be patient about the grooming and hopefully we will have all trails in great shape for the weekend. Be safe out there and ride with caution.

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 18:17 PST
Wind really did some damage the last two days to the trails running north and south. We have one groomer out on the north side of the river right now and we plan on go out tomorrow on the south side. Will update when I can. Be patient we are only volunteers like I've said before. Ride safe.

Saturday, February 14, 2015

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 08:15 PST
Two groomers went out yesterday one broke down but we fixed it and he is headed right now. Trails are hard and flat except where the wind blew drifts into the trail yesterday after we groomed. We hope to be out all day today with the groomers(so watch out and yield for them) to try and get the trails the best we can for this weekend and Ames Firehouse Pancake Breakfast. Remember RIGHT TO THE RIGHT OF THE TRAIL, be safe out there.

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 08:01 PST
One Groomer is out right now and the others will be out cleaning trails as soon as our volunteers get off of work. we hope to have all trails flat for the weekend, and it is going to be very cold so they should stay that way for a while. Ride to the right of the trail.

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 21:15 PST
Update I rode our trails today and they were awesome!!! Wind is blowing hard now and the trails that run north and south are getting drifted bad but the trails running east and west are getting smoother. we are going to go out and groom again after the wind stops and try to fix the trails before the weekend so they are flat, weather permitting. Stay safe out there, I will update more when I can.

Wednesday, February 11, 2015

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 18:14 PST
All trails were groomed in the last 24 hours and are in very good condition(excellent when we were done at 5 am) with the exception of the trail from St. Johnsville north, that groomer is broken down and we hope to have it fixed in the next couple of days. We may need to groom again be fore the weekend and it calls for extreme cold which is not good to groom in because snow will not pack well it would be all marbles if we groom when it is too cold. Stay safe and ride to the right of the trail.

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 07:55 PST
One groomer went out yesterday one groomer is out now and the others will be out today. There is more than twelve inches of snow out there and when we get done grooming we should have a great base. Be patient we are volunteers with Families and Jobs. I will post more when I am not grooming or riding sled. Ride safe and ride to the right of the trail.

Saturday, February 07, 2015

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 08:03 PST
All trails have been groomed. went out yesterday with three groomers and did a lot, wind and snowplows did some damage but for the most part trails range from poor to good, snow is very dry and does not pack well, did the best we could. More snow in the forecast we will be out with groomers next week when we can. Last weeks monthly meeting was canceled and rescheduled for this coming Monday the ninth, 7:30 pm Canjo Moose Club. Ride safe and ride to the right of the trail.

Friday, February 06, 2015

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 07:31 PST
All trails have been groomed at least once most two or three times except S78B from the bike path in St. Johnsvlle north that groomer is broken down and we hope to be there tomorrow with another groomer. The wind blew hard enough yesterday to ruin the trails so we are going back out today and try to fix them for the weekend. There maybe a few missing signs out there we are putting them back up when we see them missing but there still maybe few. The bridge in Ft. Plain is open for sleds but we can't groom it and there is construction work there so be careful. Ride safe and Ride to the Right of the trail.

Wednesday, February 04, 2015

Trail conditions - bskinner @ 23:16 PST
Good news got the bridge open on the Bike Path in Fort Plain, but there are men working down by the bridge and they are plowing the bike path from Rouse Road west to the Bridge, so we are going to have to be careful and watch out for construction equipment and we won't be able to groom this section until they are done working in three weeks so be careful. The truck was towed off of Lincoln Rd. last night and most of the trails have been groomed at least once we should finish up grooming tomorrow. As for conditions the 12 inches of snow we got packed down to about 3 inches so it is a little skimpy base that we have now but as I type this it is snowing so that will help. Ride right and I will update soon.

Tuesday, February 03, 2015

trail conditions - bskinner @ 18:38 PST
We started grooming and have run into a few problems. The worst one is the new bridge in Ft. Plain is shut down for now. There is a sewer line that is running across the bridge from the work that is being done on it and we can not cross it due to this sewer line. I will try to find out what we can do tomorrow. Then there is a TRUCK stuck in the middle of the trail on Lincoln Road which we are trying to find out about this. So ride safe out there and watch out for obstacles beyond our control and pay attention to the signs.

Meeting - bskinner @ 14:07 PST
Tonight's meeting is canceled and rescheduled for next Monday February 9 2015 7:30 pm Canajoharie Moose Club.

Trails are OPEN - bskinner @ 11:27 PST
Finally got some snow to open the trails. We have some gates to open and we will try to go out with the groomers starting Tuesday or Wednesday, it is supposed to be very cold tonight and we will not put our groomers and drivers out when it is below zero for safety reason, if we break down out there it could be a long wait in the cold for help. I will update when we have all the gates open and the groomers have gone out. Remember we are volunteers and have families and jobs too, please be patient. Ride safe and ride to the right.
