Canalway Trail Cleanup - Ed @ 06:57 PST
On May 23rd, members of FPUI participated in a Canalway Trail cleanup. Dan Shults, Dan Clancy and "Pete", Dean Diefendorf and Bob Perry walked a four mile section of the Canalway Trail from Lock 15 to the western edge of the Village of Canajoharie. Almost 50 pounds of litter along with two tires, some plastic hose and various metal items were cleaned up from the Canalway Trail which is maintained by the club as a portion of the 11,000 miles of the state wide snowmobile trail system. Tolga Morawski from Ft. Plain also assisted by picking up litter east of Canajoharie. Thanks also go out to Barry Christman and Jason Heiser for accepting the trash.

The cleanup was in conjunction with a state wide event called the Canalway Trail Celebration set for June 6th, 2009, conducted by the New York State Canal Corporation, Parks $ Trails New York, the Canalway Trails Association New York, (CTANY), and Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor."

Thank you to all who visited our trail system - Ed @ 08:53 PST
Thank you to all who visited our trail system this year. We appreciate your courteous use of our trails and for supporting the local businesses. We are working to have a better trail system for the coming season. Thanks to all who supported the Forest Preserve Users club by attending our three pancake breakfasts.
A special THANK YOU to all the landowners who provided us with the use of their land and gave us the ability to have this trail system.
